You're Not Inconsistent, You're Just Unclear

You’re not struggling with consistency. You’re just consistent in the wrong things. “You don’t have a consistency problem, you have a clarity problem.” — Mosinmileoluwa Owosanya A new month always feels like a reset. For some, it’s a chance to start over. For others, it’s just another day to try again, to stay consistent, or at least try to. Goals are written. Plans are made. Journals are filled. But here’s the real question: What makes April different from March? Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending an online consistency masterclass by Mosinmileoluwa—someone who doesn’t just talk about consistency, but embodies it. And honestly? It felt like a mental reset. One statement stayed with me: “You don’t have a consistency problem—you have a clarity problem.” That line struck deeper than I expected. Because when you really think about it… we are all consistent. We are consistently: • scrolling endlessly • engaging in conversations that don’t move us forward • pro...

The Myth of Overnight Success

The Myth of Overnight Success: Why Work Is the Real Luck

The Myth of Overnight Success: Why Work Is the Real Luck

We call it “luck.” Most times, it’s years of unseen effort meeting the right moment.

Have you noticed how people often downplay others’ achievements by calling them luck? It’s as if the work and dedication behind success suddenly vanish.

I still remember an experience from secondary school. I won a prize for an impromptu speech. Instead of congratulations, I heard:

  • “She was just lucky to be called.”
  • “What’s there that I can’t say?”
  • “If not coincidence, what was so special?”

Those words stung. But over time, I learned something simple and true:

✨ The work is the luck.

Behind every achievement are late nights, early mornings, and repeated practice. We just don’t always see them. In a world that craves speed — instant results, quick fixes, fast progress — we tend to overlook the slow, faithful process.

“Overnight success” is usually years of consistency showing up all at once.

The Real Equation

Luck = Opportunity + Preparedness

You can’t always control opportunity. But you can grow your preparedness. Read, practice, ask questions, show up — again and again. Then, when the door cracks open, you’re ready to walk through it.

A Young-Adult Reality Check

We admire the track records of people ahead of us. But the real question is: are we willing to do the steady work that makes those results possible? Because in real life:

  • Consistency is the greatest coincidence.
  • Process isn’t glamorous — but it’s where competence grows.
  • Small, repeated efforts compound into visible results.
Paradigm shift: Stop fixating on what you can’t control. Maximize what you can — your effort, your preparation, your attitude.

Honor the Hidden Work (Yours & Others’)

Next time you see someone win, pause before calling it luck. Chances are, it’s perseverance blooming in public. And when your own moment comes, remember: it wasn’t a coincidence — it was your preparation meeting its opportunity.

Practice → Progress → (what looks like) Perfection.

Keep sowing. Your “suddenly” will be the fruit of your “slowly.” ๐ŸŒฑ
